Around the world in 80 trains

It was only a matter of time before the sound of wheels on steel lured me back onto the railways. In 2010 I fled London for India and spent almost five months travelling the length and breadth of the country via the Indian Railways which became my first book, Around India in 80 Trains. This time I decided to take a larger leap and travel Around the World in 80 Trains which will be published by Bloomsbury in 2017.

Meanwhile I’m writing a series of columns for different publications which you can follow if you click on the tab above.

All aboard!

“A wonderfully wry and witty debut, crackles and sparks with life like an exploding box of Diwali fireworks.”
– William Dalrymple

“I love train trips and I love travelling around India. If you do too, then this book is a wonderful companion.” – Irvine Welsh

“A great big lovely shambling train ride of a book, offering wonderful views, hilarious interludes, all sorts of dodgy characters and some very peculiar smells, all for the one ticket.” – Giles Coren
